We have been meticulously handcrafting musical instruments for over 18 years. Our new dual taper clarinet
barrels are the combination of vast experience skill and workmanship, and are made in small batches to assure quality over
quantity.Our barrels are designed to work with most clarinets. The 66mm is suggested standard for the Bb clarinet, and 65mm
for the A clarinets .
The materials we primarily use are:
- African Blackwood, hard extremely
dense wood from Tanzania, the standard for woodwind manufacture. Stable and strong it gives a clear bright sound.
- Cocobolo,
hard and dense from Mexico and Honduras. Now recognized as a superior tone wood. It comes in a range of colors and figures,
always stunningly beautiful. Delivers a warm darker sound.
- Mopane, hard and smooth from Tanzania. Light blonde in
color, will give a bright ringing sound.
- Delrin, hard, stable black plastic. that is used for Student models,
delivers bold full sound.
While tapered bore barrels are now readily available and are usually an improvement
over the standard barrels, our newly designed dual taper barrel takes this concept one step further!
Our unique
dual taper is available in 2 configurations.
#1, the standard design helps focus the sound and is easy to
play, gives dramatically improved response and increased stability throughout all registers.
#2, the enhanced design
uses a steeper angle and delivers more volume than #1, the tone is particularly warm, smooth and focused.
We have
two wall thicknesses for you to choose from.
Our "Gran Cuore" barrels have the heavier wall will absorb
some higher frequencies giving a darker tone.

Each barrel is unique, and it's character will
develop more as it is played. That's why we recommend you break in your new custom barrel gently, playing for small increments
of time, gradually allowing it to absorb moisture and vibrations.
Any of our barrels can be returned at any time
for reaming and adjustment as it ages.
